Intiland Wins Two National Prestigious Awards
Jakarta, 18/11 – The national property developer, PT Intiland Development Tbk wins two prestigious awards in project development and for the execution of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. The awards show that the company’s sustainable development approaches is truly appreciated.
Intiland wins Upstanding Company award in Indonesia Social Responsibility Award 2014 held in Jakarta, on Monday, November 17, 2014. The awards are conferred to companies deemed having a strong commitment to and having succeeded in their CSR programs in fields such as education, environment and social issues.
Intiland wins the award through one of its CSR programs – the establishment of Intesa School of Hospitality in Yogyakarta. The school founded through Intiland Foundation shows the company’s dedication to providing opportunity to study and jobs for the young. Intesa also provides scholarships to high achievers and those from disadvantaged families.
“We are proud and really appreciate the organizing of this award ceremony. We hope more companies or institutions are committed to sustainable development and to community and environment awareness,” said Theresia Rustandi, corporate secretary of Intiland, after the awarding of the trophies.
Indonesia Social Responsibility Award 2014 is organized by La Tofi School of CSR and Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of Republic of Indonesia. The award is conferred to companies, ministries, regional governments, and individuals, who have implemented social responsibility drives within the corridor of sustainable development.
Theresia said Intiland is committed to corporate social responsibility programs. This is translated in various programs in fields of education, environment, social and disaster response.
Through Intiland Foundation which acts as the umbrella entity for Intiland’s CSR programs, the company, for instance, launched the program Intiland Teduh. The program is the company’s initiative to help provide and renovate houses of underprivileged families. The program also shows the company’s commitment in helping families in Indonesia to have decent houses.
“We involve our stakeholders, including getting the direct participation of our consumers. We do this by allocating some of the corporate income to help provide or renovate houses,” she added.
Best Project Development
Aside from Upstanding Company award, Intiland also wins a prestigious award in Indocement Award 2014 from one of the company’s development projects. The event was held on November 11, 2014 in Jakarta. In the event, Intiland takes home an award thanks to its Graha Natura residential project in Surabaya. The development project is dubbed the Best Project Development in East Java province.
Graha Natura wins the award as Intiland is considered successful in developing the principles of sustainable development and green development. The development of the 80-hectare residential complex applies these principles in the project’s integrated development concept. The concept integrates aspects of infrastructures and environment utilization, community development, and commitment to the preservation of the environment.
Indocement Award is an award which appreciates and honors developers, contractors, architects, academia, researchers, students, or anyone who has shown performance, work and innovation, as well as creativity in the country’s construction industry. The award ceremony is initiated and organized by PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk every two years, and it has been held since 2008.
One of the leading points of Graha Natura is the project’s success in combining the concepts of healthy living, technology, and nature. The company substantiates the concepts by making Graha Natura area free from household waste, either solid or liquid wastes, which can pollute the environment.
The program is realized by constructing Integrated Sewage Treatment Plant system capable of processing all household liquid waste in one processing center by use of advanced technology. With the application of this technology each and every house in Graha Natura does not need a septic tank.
Graha Natura is also completed with fiber optic infrastructures around the residential complex. This facility is available for various communication and information needs of the residents, including teleconference, Voice over Internet Protocol, HD television, high speed Internet connection, and integrated security system using closed-circuit television (CCTV).
The project also pays special attention to creating healthy and green environment. To achieve this, the company works together with scientific institutions to launch environment conservation program. The company cooperates with the management of Purwodadi Botanical Garden, and Seameo Biotrop (South East Asia Regional Center for Biology Tropical).
With the cooperation, company targets to plant at least 10,000 trees around Graha Natura complex. There will be 1,000 species of trees planted. The number represents around 25 percent of species of trees found in the country.
