Intiland to Accelerate the Development of Aeropolis Integrated Zone
Jakarta, (09/09) – PT Intiland Development Tbk. is deemed successful in realizing the best concept of an integrated zone near Soekarno-Hatta International airport, Tangerang. Since the start of the project in 2012, Aeropolis has become one of the residential and business centers in synergy with the development of the airport.
After the company’s success in launching various residential and commercial products, Aeropolis is now developing its latest residential facility, Aeropolis Residence (AR) 3. The development of AR 3 started with the groundbreaking ceremony held on Tuesday, 9 September 2014. The event was attended by the company’s board of the management.
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Intiland, Suhendro Prabowo said that Aeropolis was enjoying fast growth. An airport satellite city having strong synergy with Soekarno-Hatta International airport is what lies behind the concept Aeropolis adopts. And the concept has started bearing fruit.
“Aeropolis is set to become an integrated zone having the synergy with the development of the airport. We are developing various facilities, including residences, offices, retail spaces, commercial hotel and even warehouse,” said Suhendro.
The development of Aeropolis Residence 3 is Aeropolis’s latest project. AR 3 apartment project follows the success of AR 1, AR 2 and Aeropolis Crystal Residence (ACR). The apartment is to have four towers with each tower housing 470 apartment units and 12 shops.
The company thus far has had AR1, AR2 and ACR, as well as the ongoing AR 3 project. All comprise a total of 4,335 residential units. As of August 2014, the company has sold 4,053 units. Aside from residences, Aeropolis also provides space for office and retail at Aeropolis Commercial Park (ACP). There are a total of 105 units, and as of August 2014, the company has sold 73 units.
At the moment, the company has completed the development phase for ACP, and several tenants have started with fit-out phase. Two tenants have already opened for business, Oryx Bistro, a restaurant and a café. Aside from residential and commercial products, Aeropolis is also developing a boutique hotel of four towers with 300 rooms.
Up to present, more than 600 unit apartments of Aeropolis Residence 1 are occupied. Aeropolis also provides two shuttle buses for use by tenants to and from the airport. This facility helps the tenants with their activities which mostly are conducted at Soekarno-Hatta International airport; some of the tenants are flight attendants, ground crew, or even pilots.
Some lifestyle facilities also developed in the area include club house, boutique hotel, condotel and food center. “With the concept of integrated zone, we are optimistic that Aeropolis can invigorate the airport complex and its surrounding area,” Suhendro added.
The rapid growth enjoyed by Soekarno-Hatta International airport—the eighth busiest airport in the world, according to Airport Council International—leads to high demand for facilities to support the activities. To help meet this demand, Aeropolis has planned to also develop Aeropolis Techno Park—a facility for cargo warehousing and office.
Rapid Growth
Intiland has shifted its development focus to integrated area, with various projects in strategic regions around the country. Aeropolis is one of such successful and rapidly-growing integrated zones.
This is to some degree thanks to Aeropolis’s strategic location—only 500 meters away from Soekarno-Hatta International airport entrance gate. The growing number of passengers of the airport, which is projected to reach 64 million people in 2014, and the plan to further develop the airport in the near future, are also the factors that help the success of the project.
As of August 2014, the company has sold 4,125 apartment units and hotel. Aeropolis Project’s contribution to sales revenue reaches IDR 330 billion until the closing of Q1-2014.
“We believe that big scale and long term integrated area development concept can contribute positively to the company,” said Suhendro.
The company will continue developing Aeropolis in the future. Betting on modern integrated area with strategic location, the company is confident Aeropolis will grow rapidly. The project is expected to not only contribute to the company’s profit, but also help the surrounding area and the community, the growth of the airport, as well as the consumers and investors.
