Gralapah Fun Plogging 5K: A Collaboration for a Cleaner and Healthier Environment

Surabaya (07/12) – PT Intiland Development Tbk (Intiland; DILD) and PT Bank Maspion Indonesia Tbk (Bank Maspion; BMAS) have once again reaffirmed their commitment to environmental conservation through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The two companies have provided mentorship to the winner of the Inovator Muda program, entitled “Gerak Lari Ambil Sampah (Gralapah) Fun Plogging 5K.” The event, held on Saturday (7/12) at Praxis, Surabaya, brought together 350 participants from various backgrounds, including students, professionals, runners, and the general public, free of charge.

Theresia Rustandi, Corporate Director of PT Intiland Development Tbk, explained that the Gralapah Fun Plogging 5K is a follow-up to the collaborative CSR program between Intiland and Bank Maspion, titled Inovator Muda. Centered on an educational bootcamp concept under the theme “Building Futures: Youthful Harmony for Social, Economy, and Environment Innovation,” the Inovator Muda program was successfully held in Surabaya and Trawas, Mojokerto Regency, from August 26 to 30, 2024. The program aimed to challenge young generations to create sustainable and innovative projects.

Theresia explained that the Inovator Muda program is part of a form of CSR commitment under the umbrella of the Intiland Youth Panel program which has been running since 2018. This program aims to empower the young generation through various activities and specially designed platforms to support self-development in various aspects such as knowledge, motivation, education, investment, leadership and career development.

Gralapah is the winner of an innovative and sustainable project initiated by Muhammad Adnan Bayu Firdaus from Universitas Airlangga, Muhammad Juliansyah Akbar from UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, and Muhammad Fatih Hanif from Universitas Brawijaya. Gralapah is an innovative initiative that successfully combines physical activity with environmental conservation and awareness.

Gralapah Fun Plogging 5K encouraged participants to do more than just run. Equipped with gloves and trash bags, participants picked up litter along the 5- kilometer route.

“Intiland and Bank Maspion provided support throughout the implementation of the Gralapah project, from planning to execution and evaluation. We hope this step fosters a spirit of environmental care among the younger generation,” Theresia stated at Praxis, Surabaya, on Saturday (7/12).

Gralapah represents an innovative initiative merging running with environmental conservation. The event aims to encourage people to care for their surroundings through simple daily actions, such as maintaining cleanliness and reducing plastic waste.

The collected trash from the participants was managed by Bank Sampah Induk Surabaya. The proceeds from waste management were donated to Yayasan Bina Bhakti Lingkungan, a social organization focused on actiitoes such as charity, education, and entrepreneurship training.

“We believe this event not only increases awareness of health and the importance of environmental cleanliness but also creates a positive impact on the well-being of the Surabaya community,” Theresia added.

Kasemsri Charoensiddhi, President Director of Bank Maspion, stated that the Gralapah Fun Plogging 5K is part of Bank Maspion’s commitment to supporting environmental preservation through sustainable CSR initiatives. She also noted that this event serves as an opportunity to explore how the community can actively contribute to every effort to preserve the environment, particularly in Surabaya.
