Surabaya (14/10) – The development of facilities and the leading golf course in Surabaya, East Java, namely Golf Graha Famili (GGF), once again organized an annual golf tournament to celebrate its 28th anniversary. This golf tournament was held on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 to 15, 2023, at Golf Graha Famili, Surabaya.
To commemorate 28 years of being a special place for golf enthusiasts, especially for players and loyal members, Golf Graha Famili has adopted the theme “Jewel of The Nile” for this year’s tournament. The “Jewel of The Nile” theme depicts inspiration from the beauty of the Nile River incorporated into the landscape of the Golf Graha Famili course. This golf course features 18 holes with 72 par and is equipped with bunkers, rivers, and lakes as obstacles for a more challenging game.
Simon J. Wirawan, Director of Property at PT Intiland Development Tbk (Intiland; DILD) for the Surabaya region, explains that this year’s celebration is a very important moment for Golf Graha Famili. The implementation of this tournament is a manifestation of commitment as well as appreciation for the members and golf players who have always been loyal to playing at Golf Graha Famili. The involvement of members and players in social events, tournaments, and other activities has made Golf Graha Famili a special choice for the golf community in Surabaya.

Wirawan after inaugurating the tournament at Golf Graha Famili Surabaya on Saturday (14/10).
For two days, there will be a total of 420 golfers participating in this tournament, along with approximately 700 visitors attending the gala dinner event. The participants were not only from Surabaya but also from Jakarta, Bali, Makassar, Banjarmasin, and even from overseas, including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan. Golf Graha Famili also provides accommodation facilities at the Whiz Luxe Hotel Surabaya with special rates for the players.
The “Jewel of The Nile” golf tournament is divided into three shotguns, with two shotguns on Saturday (14/10) and the third shotgun on Sunday (15/10). This golf tournament will conclude with a gala dinner event along with the awarding and distribution of prizes to the winners.
“The gala dinner serves as the highlight of our celebration and a night of appreciation for the golf players and members. This event provides an opportunity to meet, foster camaraderie, and build connections among the golf enthusiasts,” Simon further expressed.

The grand prize is a Daihatsu Ayla car, and the total Hole-In-One prize is more than three billion Rupiah, which serves as an attraction for the participants. Not only that, Golf Graha Famili is also preparing a lucky draw with two electric motorcycles, two LED TVs, two Samsung Flip smartphones, two electric scooters and three gold each weighing 5-gram, two smartwatches, and many other prizes that will be raffled off to the participants.
