Intiland To Work with Accor Group for Praxis Hotel
Surabaya (25/05) – The national property developer, PT Intiland Development Tbk., has sealed an agreement with Accor Group, the biggest international hotel operator in Asia-Pacific, to bring to Indonesia, quality hotel facilities at the company’s superblock project, Praxis Surabaya. The signing of the MoU was done by Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Intiland, Sinarto Dharmawan and Chief Operating Officer of Accor Asia-Pacific, Gerard Guillouet on May 25, 2015 at Intiland Tower, Surabaya.
With the cooperation, the company is set to develop Hotel Mercure, Praxis Surabaya. Hotel Mercure Praxis is a four-star hotel strategically located at the heart of the city of Surabaya. It will be equipped with various facilities to provide comforts to those staying in the hotel or for those at the hotel for a meeting or for a convention.
Sinarto Dharmawan said the cooperation with Accor Group is mutually beneficial. As the new business center in Surabaya, Praxis needs international partner to accommodate the needs of business people from Indonesian and from abroad.
“Four-star hotel facilities at Praxis are needed as to accommodate the modern life style of business people. They want to be able to conduct various businesses in one location, such as having a meeting with partners or for dinner; it’s for efficiency. Mercure Praxis Surabaya should be able to cater to these needs and life style,” Sinarto said.
Praxis is one of Intiland’s latest superblock development project in Surabaya’s business center. Occupying an area of 1.1 hectare, Praxis comprises office space, condominium, retail area, multiplex theaters, and a hall, with a floor area of 103,390 square meters.
“With its strategic location at the heart of Surabaya’s centers of business, culinary and main shopping area, Mercure Praxis Surabaya will present a uniquely modern nuance with local touches which have become a trademark of Mercure,” Chief Operating Officer of Accor for Malaysia-Indonesia-Singapura, Gerard Guillouet, explained.
Mercure is Accor Group’s middle-level hotel brand. The hotel offers special nuance and experience, which are different from hotel to hotel, with strong roots to local wisdom, but still regarding international standards in each of its facility and service. The essence of the brand, Mercure provides ease for the hotel to continue adapting to various needs of the patrons. Bringing forth local touches in the hotel’s decorations and interiors, Mercure proudly highlights the local warmth and specific cultures of Surabaya.
Hotel Mercure Praxis Surabaya will have 19 floors and 288 rooms with an area starting from 26 square meters. Aside from various room types, Mercure Praxis Surabaya also will have a meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a gymnasium and restaurants.
Joining with Accor Hotel chain, when it is ready for operations, Mercure Praxis Surabaya will be available via Accor reservation website, www.accorhotels.com, accessible in 18 languages and 32 local versions, and having booked more than 25 million room nights across the globe last year alone, having been visited by more than 300 million people, and having more than 18 million members in its Le Club Accorhotels loyalty program.
Meanwhile, Sinarto said that the urbanites and business people in Surabaya need mixed-use area which help them conduct their activities. Hospitality facilities at Praxis superblock is expected to provide the answer to these needs as it presents on-the-spot development concept.
The development of Praxis superblock is set to become an integral part of Intiland Tower office building in Surabaya. The integrated concept will create integrated office and business area.
The construction of Praxis is predicted to last for around two years. Mercure Praxis Surabaya should start operating at the same time as the completion of Praxis superblock development. Another facility for tenants and guests is the basement area capable of accommodating 800 four-wheel vehicles.
The company is of the opinion that the trend in residential in big cities, like Surabaya, will move to a mixed-use area. The concept is to be the trend and the answer to the changes and the market dynamics of people in big cities.
