Jakarta (18/06) – Property developer PT Intiland Development Tbk (Intiland; DILD) successfully completed the construction phase of South Quarter Residence (SQ Rés) apartments, located in South Jakarta. This stage was marked by the procession of topping off the apartment tower by Intiland’s directors and representatives from building contractors and consultants on Saturday (18/6).
Permadi Indra Yoga, Intiland’s Director of Business Development, explained that the topping off was an important stage in the construction of SQ Rés apartments. The Company will then enter the stage of completing the building façade, mechanical and electrical, as well as the interior work.
“We are happy that the construction of SQ Rés went smoothly, notwithstanding the difficult conditions posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. We are always committed to completing it on time and trying to meet the expectations of buyers,” Permadi Indra Yoga told the media after the topping off procession.
The Company considers the topping off to be an important momentum to boost the interest among prospective consumers to purchase property products, the demand for which had fallen during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Company has seen how the property market has been gradually improving this year, in line with the recovery of market interest in buying and investing in property.
Kundarso, Project Leader of SQ Rés, explained that one of the success factors in SQ Rés development process was the mutual commitment among contractors, consultants, and all parties involved to the development project. PT Total Bangun Persada Tbk (Total;TOTL) as the main contractor, along with its sub-contractors, managed to build a fruitful synergy with the Company to complete the entire construction process.
“Currently, the construction of tower D has entered the stage of building facade and interior completion. We project that the handover of units to buyers can be carried out starting in the second quarter of next year,” said Kundarso.
The Company is optimistic that the process of completing the development of SQ Rés will run smoothly, and the handover of units to the buyers can be performed on time. The development phase will now focus on completing the façade, mechanical and electrical works, as well as the existing facilities.
Sustainable Development of the Integrated Area
SQ Rés apartments is one of Intiland’s newest development projects in its mixed-use & high-rise segment portfolio. Initiated for development in 2019, the construction of SQ Rés included two 23-floor towers occupying an area of 1.3 hectares. SQ Rés is part of the second phase of development of the 7.1-hectare South Quarter integrated office area ,which will continue to expand to cover more than 13 hectares.
The first phase of South Quarter development includes the development of three office towers and SQ Dome as a supporting retail facility, built on an area of 4.4 hectares. SQ Rés was designed by Tom Wright, the world-renowned architect from the architectural firm WKK Architect in London, England.
